Campania’s rubbish crisis is characterized by the state of emergency about disposal of urban solid rubbish in the same region. The causes are a lot. Some could be delays in planning and preparation of appropriate dischages, the inadequate urban rubbish’s treatment and the delays of incinerators’ building. This brings problems: rubbish isn’t collected and accumulates on the road, also in the city centre, creating health problems and spoiling the environment. The situation isn’t getting better but there are 2000 tons of rubbish spread along Naples’ streets. The Hygiene commissioner of the City of Naples, Paolo Giacomelli, reassures the population saying that work “is going on a regular basis”. To decrease the amount of waste the Province of Naples will extend the opening hours of the plants until late at night.
