Humanitarian emergency

In Lampedusa there is a humanitarian emergency after a new wave of landings, for the  violence that are happening in the Arab world. From the first night of rebellion were landed 347 immigrants on the coast of Sicily.

"Since the beginning of the year until yesterday arrived in Lampedusa 5,600 illegal immigrants, all coming from Tunisia, " said Interior Minister Roberto Maroni. "In the shelter of Lampedusa, more than the 347 immigrants of the first night, there are about 500 people, the others were moved to other centers. Tunisians landed - continued Maroni - said they wanted to go to Germany and France to join with their communities this is due to the rebellion in northern Africa as in Libya, where the population is forced to flee from the violence of Gaddafi. Infact the foreign ministers of the Arab League have called on the Libyan government to take decisions, to put an end to violence and "respect the legitimate rights"of the population, but the dictator did not want to lose the power and so the violence don’t stop.
